Sears putting toys back into stores

Just read this article on AFI.
    http://www.actionfigureinsider.com/m...s-to-20-stores

Hopefully they will start the Wishbooks up again! I absolutely LOVED them around Christmas time. I would spend weeks looking, circling or cutting the pictures out of the toys I wanted that year.

Our Sears has had a small 2-3 aisle toy section at Christmas time located near the decorations & trees. But I really miss those catalogs, Sears & Penneys. That was a Christmas tradition!

Canadian Sears never stopped with their toy aisle, just a humble shadow of the 70s/80s.

and if they follow the age old sears tradition they'll get toys later that wally and target and at higher prices. unless they can fanagle some exclusives this will not last long in sears

Me to. That brings back great memories checking out the cool toy lines and making my Christmas wish list at Grandma's house. Grandma and Grandpa always had the most recent catalogs every time I visited.

Me to. That would be awesome. New Mego/EMCE's in the store catalogs. Now that would be cool. Kind of like history repeating itself all over again.

Some of the Canadian Sears started dropping their toy departments lately too. As Palitoy said, those that haven't are a far cry from being one of the major toy departments they used to be pre 90's!

Really, I don't think they could compete with Wal Mart or Toys R Us on order quantity's , but they probably could go back to their old "Sears Exclusive" ways and reinvigorate their toy departments with stuff nobody else has...!?

Sears already has plenty of toy aisles. They're just located in your local Kmart.

Still not the same memories to me as going to Sears every weekend. K-Mart sucks in my opinion. I still have no idea how they are able to stay in business. ???? Their selection sucks every time I visited in the past. I go less and less all the time. A lot of the K-Mart's have already been sent packing around my area. That pretty much speaks for itself. K-Mart used to be cool back in the day (pre Wally Mart days).

that is a priome example of why this will not work for them. Most kmarts already get product later and at higher prices than tgt and wally. I can't imagine the higher operating cost of a mall location will help with the price of the toy.

If they are smart they can get some excl products and market a limited toy aisle otherwise they will have product sitting the way it does at kmarts
