Pertwee as 3rd Dr. and Variant Pertwee due Sept.

The pricing for these things is tantamount to being raped!!! EntEarth has both for $82-preorder. The high price is because Charatcer Options thinks these figures won't sell and they are afraid they'll lose money on them. I disagree but if they don't re-release them in different packaging after this, American Who fans will miss out!

I'd love to get the one with the Dalek ... but at that price, it's not going to happen.

I think somewhere along the line the makers forget these are TOYS that are made to be sold... Not rare Museum peices only rich people can collect.

So why can't they offer a few variants to Tom Baker..?? All I've seen is the 'first look' Tom from his first year..

How about the more familiar, long-coated version from Mandragora/Face of Evil/Key-to-Time years..?

I saw the comiccon black and white versions of the earlier Doctors at my local shop for 50+. I had to pass, even tho I thought they were pretty cool. They are nifty looking little sculptures, but I do have better places to put my resources at the moment.
It seems to me a self fulfilling prophecy to me to be wary of poor sales and then raise the price. Sounds like taking a niche market and making it an elite clique.

Hmmm. I don't think we'll get too many takers on these at 50 bucks, better jack that up to 80 so we will make a profit.

part of the cost has to be related they are smaller production runs for a "limited market" (Ie the UK) and any us chain that has them is either an etailer or going though a second or 3rd distributor each one adding a litte more on the price. Same is true for the action man timeless collection

That's not an $80 sculpt for Pertwee. It's good for a reasonably priced toy, but not that much.

They're just milking the last ones for all they're worth, IMO.
I have series 1, but these ones are a bit too steep for me, especially because I don't really need the second figure of each two-pack....

I agree i would love to get Pertwee with the Dalek but these seem abit pricey.

I just picked up the Dalek collector set #1 for a complete steal at £6.99,so i am hopeing these will be discounted too.It pays to be paitent some times,as i nearly bought them at full price. £16.99

I wish someone would buy these and cast them as non poseable statues.

It would be a way EVERYONE can get the expensive ones - like Pertwee to finish their collections.
