    DC 3-3/4" Line...Dead???

I'm sure starting to think the 3-3/4" DC line is dead. I've seen two local hobby shops put them on sale now..from 14 bucks a piece to 3 for ten?
I've also noticed the local TRU has pulled all of their 3 3/4 stuff (all of it meaning a dozen of Dr. Fate and Black Lightning) and replaced it with the JLU stuff.

I like the line, despite its faults, and was hoping it would continue. Mattel didnt show a lot of new stuff at SDCC or Toy Fair, so I'm thinking it may be on thin ice..too bad.

are those the small figures they sell at Target that have 3 in one pack? I saw the Lex luther 3 pack for $4 and I picked up the Green Arrow and Lantern 3 pack

Sure sounds like the same line. Up here Zellers, Wal Mart and TRU carry them. $4!!! For the Luthor and two of his goons ...thats pretty good. I saw one today and it was running at 29 bucks. the Green Arrow/Canary/Lantern set is pretty common up here still, as is the Bizarro/WG/ Supergirl set, and the Flash (GA)/Capt. Boomerang/Mirror Master set.

At 4 dollars a box, that does indeed sound like they are clearing these out..or does Target do that once in a while?

One of two things is happening.

Either Mattel is discontinuing the line in it's entirety and the vendors are liquidating their shelf space or it's making room for the newer figures. They supposedly have an new body they are going to use with much more articulation and much better paint apps. If anyone has seen the Green Lantern DVD exclusive figure you know what I'm talking about. Those were supposed to start this year, but those plans may have been scrapped.

I could never get into this line, even though I liked some of the character choices they picked. The 3 3/4" scale has never interested me.....

I think they're just moving old stock, cause the single fig's were still at regular price

Mattel showed them at SDCC like they were still making them.

Well, I'm seeing them showing up reduced at local clearance run stores like Ollie's Bargain Outlet & Five Below. Ollie's has boxes of them for $1.99, mostly Question, Batwoman, Power Girl, Wildcat, Batman, Guy Gardner. And Five Below had the same ones for $3, and the three packs with GL/GA/BC & Luthor set for $5.00 each.

I've seen new ones recently at Target- Omac, Thanagar Warriors, '80s Supergirl at regular price.

Mattel is doing a big retrofit, removing the old and in with the new. This line is very much alive. Something in the execution and character choice left me cold, as a fan of the 3 3/4" format my wallet is happy.

I guess it is just a house cleaning. Went to a different Wal-Mart today and they had a bunch of new ones on the pegs again.

I also noticed the Joe 33/4 movie line was knocked down to $5 a piece....????

I have a few, but the line overall is very clunky looking, and not worth the price with little to no accessories. I'd rather pay more for the excellent (and much larget) DCUC figures.

Save for the giant Anti-Monitor SDCC exclusive dealiebobber, I've got them all. I don't know why I love them so much... I just do.

But yeah, I'm concerned for the future of the line, in spite of the prototypes and what not that they've been showing.

I cant say why I like them either, but I likes 'em!!
Maybe because I would have killed for a line like this as a kid. CAH and Pocket Heroes were ok, but a comprehensive line like this would have been over the top!

I like the 6" heroes too, but theres no nostalgia associated with that scale for me, so they are out. I do hope the 3 3/4" line prospers, and if they keep the pricing where there at lately I think it still could. I'm hoping they go beyond figures and pop out some playsets and vehicles soon too!! (wonder if the Imaginext Super Friends/Batman stuff would be compatible?)
