I just got my Wonder Twins with Gleek set and man I love this set, a very well done and cool set. I highly recommend getting one if you collect the dc universe classics
I almost pulled the trigger on it yesterday on Mattycollector, but the non-Gleek thing bothers me. I just couldn't do it. I may have to eyeball the con set on ebay.
I went with the Matty Collector set because all week long I've been having a hard time justifying paying another $30-50 just for Gleek on ebay. I'll probably regret it at some point....
Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!
I haven't seen these at any store but yesterday I looked out my window to see two guys walking down my street, one ws walking a dog, the other had a box (board game size) in one hand and Zan and Jaina in the other. I almost opened my door and said something but then thought that would be too weird.
I read an article on ToyNewsi.com that a lot of people at SDCC didn't receive a Gleek with their Twins. (Unbelievable! I would be ****ed.)
Here's the link http://toynewsi.com/news.php?catid=10&itemid=14806
The article also said they found a case of Gleeks after the show and gave them to Fwooh.com. to give away to registered members.
I think that TNI seemed to have a bit of a beef with some other sites, but honestly this "exclusive" was a badly handled. Gleek should have been included, and some none essential item should have been added to sweeten the SDCC attendee's deal (like an extra ice form of Zan or animal for Jayna).
I never have understand why these companies don't want to make more money up front and keep good will with their fans, rather than anger their followers and give scalpers a means to make more money. Makes no sense to me.
Resisting these figures was easy for me because I don't collect DCUC but the packaging almost had me clicking "add to cart". Mattel did wonderful geeky things with that. Just not sure why they treat the collector so poorly.
A lot of flack I'm reading seems to be directed at their handling of the MOTU artbook.

I paid 35 for the Gleek Figure with the 2 Buttons.
I said screw it,.. Because I Know I will regret Not get him,. & it will mess with my mind, considering I have every single DCU Figure But Atom.
I agree that I don't understand exclusives,.. why are you a Multi-Million Dollar Toy Company,.. but come out with a Product that you could make a ton of cash on,.. then give it to the Con as an exclusive.
It seems with these acts , Toy Companies only Aid Scalpers in making a Fast Buck...., & nothing really goes into thier Pockets.
I heard that to actually get the Wonder Twin Set at the Con was a Pain in the Arse,... Let alone if you actually got the Oppertunity to get it. I woulda been real upset if I was there,.. was able to be "one of the lucky ones chosen" ... & then When I got up there,.. Gleek was Gone.
Whoever was incharge of any of that Nonsense,.. should be seriously looked at imo.
... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.
This begs the question: Will they screw up the Mego revival with production screw ups and over-priced exclusives? Hopefully someone is awake at the wheel on that one.
