    Doctor Who Classic Dr.'s:1, 2 & 3

I asked the guys over at the Whona boards if the current releases of Dr.’s 1 & 2 w/ 1 Dalek & 1 Cyberman are the only releases planned. Forbidden Planet is showing off Doctor #3 John Pertwee w/ 1 Sea Devil on their site now. I expect it will also be overpriced. Though they re-released Tom Baker in a Baker Era set w/ Dalek outfitted with contagion bottles, Robot from Robots of Death and Mummy Robot from Pyramids from Mars.

Whona itself didn't answer but a couple of guys on their boards did. They don’t know for sure but don’t think that Dr.’s 1 & 2 will be released in any other sets or as single figures. They may only be available as 2 figure sets for $40. For 2 figure sets they are 2x’s the price of most double figure sets.

Not sure if I will buy them. That’s $80 for 4 figures-tho I can buy them now-they are available from some websites,( Whona is out of stock). What do you guys think? Should I wait a while and see if they re-release them?

It's very tough to be on a budget and collect Dr Who stuff

I would say, if you really want them and have the money -- get them now.

It would be different if it were baddies or companions, which if you miss the boat it's no big deal.

I placed the order with Entertainment Earth. I really don't want to miss these.

One of the big problems are THEY LOOK SO GOOD.

If they looked lousy, it would be easier to pass them buy, like I did with many of the Dapols

They are nice figures I saw them in my FP this week but they are expensive, I think I will gice them a miss and the 6th doctor in blue. Forbidden planet are also advertising this figure as coming soon

            I wouldn't want that one.

Reminds me of when Playmates Trek used to headswap to come up with instant phoned-in exclusives.

To be honest, £25 for a two-pack is still a bit steep for me.
I would have preferred just Hartnell of Troughton on single cards....

And give us some more original sculpts before you get on to variations (on every single Colin Baker look)...

£25 for a limited edition twin pack isn't that bad, imo, considering most other places are selling single figures in the £10.99 to £14.99 price range.

I think the Hartnell pack is good value, as it also has the previously unavailable 1st season Dalek saucer comander. I'd like to have seen a new figure of a Wheel Cyberman, Yeti or Ice Warrior with the Troughton though, to make it worth the price.

The Pertwee sets are good too: 2 different Doctors and Dalek with machine gun. Instead of the Sea Devil, i think a Doctor in his Green Death pattern/5 Doctors cloak would have been better, along with a giant maggot or even a Time Warrior set with Linx.

Actually, that regenerated 6th Doctor looks like a totally new body sculpt, rather than just a head swap.

I customised one from the 1st wave 5th and 6th Doctors and Colins neck is a lot shorter, which gives a hunched look. Even with extending the neck it still looks a bit off.

Well, I bought my series 1 figures on Ebay for about £6 each.
I only shelled out £13 for Colin Baker.

Patience can pay off, let's see if I'm lucky again....

I got my 4th Doctor set today.

I really like the suicide Dalek and Robot Mummy.
A nice touch is that the lid of the canopic jar which comes with the mummy is removable and it comes with a removable cannister.

Although i wasn't too keen on another Voc robot, this one is a different colour and comes with an interchangeable right hand with red "kill disc" and several different ID stickers.

The Tom Baker is the same as the first release, complete with 2nd head and sonic screwdriver.

I hate having to wait until November for the official Pertwee figures, so i made my own. This one has a better sculpt too.
