Lines that sat on the shelves in the 90's and never moved

Remember back in the 90's .........
Walking along the action figure isle and seeing a new line ?
Hmmmm, this looks interesting .... should I buy some ?
    Maybe i'll wait ....
Next week they're still there untouched......
Then the next, then the next and so on .....
Finally after months you begin to wonder - did anyone in the world ever buy one of these figures ?

    I'll start ....

Stargate -- based on the movie

Heh, I think I bought one of the Egyptian dudes from that line. Back then, it was hard to get a toy fix so I'd placate my vintage cravings with newer stuff. I may have left him in an old apartment back in '96.

The ones that I never saw go anywhere were:

1990 He Man figures, they sat for entire career at college
Super Mario Brothers Movie Figures (Fail)
    Flinstones Movie Figures
    Coneheads

I bought a few even though I didn't like the show.

I bought a few of the Roy Scheiders with the idea of making one into Dr Smith from Lost in Space.

It actually came out pretty decent -- who would have thought ?

I'm convinced that nobody bought a single Kenner Congo figure and Toys R Us just sent them to a third world country.

                Robin Hood
I went to a wedding about 12-13 years ago and the groom's brother (a TRU manager) knew I liked toys, so he came over and bragged to me he had a complete set of these MOC and he had been offered $1,000.00 for it. I kind of giggled and said "you should have taken it" (they were still in some TRU stores). He spent about twenty minutes getting in my face about how amazingly rare they are, I just let him believe that.

I got the feeling these were on display at his house and he told every guest about their amazing value.

I bought the Robin Hood figure because I could tell he was the Super Powers Green Arrow underneath. It briefly satisfied a nostalgic urge, but I didn't go back for any other figures from the line. Did the groom's brother boast about owning the original, pre-Costner Robin head sculpt? Oooh!!!

Those Exclusive Premiere figures clogged the shelves at TRUs for several years. With their ham-sized hands and rubbery faces staring back at you every time you went past them. I would have bought the Lone Ranger set if I had seen it though. I did buy my Dad a Clint Eastwood Rowdy Yates figure, but that's it.

That "Real Adventures of Jonny Quest" line tanked hard. They rotted at Wal-Mart for quite some time.

the only good thing about the Robin Hood line was the recycled Ewok Village

He most certainly did and he mentioned Friar Tuck several times cause he was soooooo rare. I think a month prior to this I saw about 20 Tucks beneath a table at a toyshow.
It was really awkward, he was very passionate about their rarity.

another costner film, waterworld figures clogged up the shelves for a while! interestingly , friar tuck was a star wars gammorean guard body.
