    SDCC 2009 Exclusives

San Diego Comic Con has finally updated their page with the list of this year's various vender exclusives. There's nothing really exciting this year considering it's the 40th Anniversary of the Con.

It still kind of burns me that you can only get Gleek at SDCC. Why not have Jan come with a translucent water head or something for the con exclusive?

I think there's quite a bit of worthy swag there myself.

There are a few things I wouldn't mind getting, but I'm not going and won't be hitting ebay.

I hear you Earth 2 Chris, Gleek should be made available to mass!

I didn't mean to imply there's nothing worth getting... I just meant that since it's the 40th Anniversay of the Con... there's nothing that reflects that. It's kind of lackluster compared to previous years.

What is the protocol for getting exclusive figures at the con? Simply finding the line and waiting in it for hours?

That would be the simple thing to do ... but some are a little more complicated than that. Mainly regarding Mattel who only alots so many figures per day to be sold. They hand out tickets in the morning, if your ticket number happens to fall between the range for that day, you can purchase the figure.

For example if the Ticket Range is 150075 - 180001 and your Ticket number is 160027 you can purchase your figures for that day. If your ticket number is lower or higher than the range, you have to try again the next day. You can try every day if you want multiples.

On Sundays they usually stop doing the ticket thing and sell anything that's left on a first come-first serve basis.

Hasbro tends to be just as frustrating at times. There are so many people trying to get the exclusives that they only allow so many people in line. The Convention Security (with power complexes) love to hassle people trying to get into line like bouncers at a popular Night Club.

My suggestion if you are going is to head immediately to Mattel and get your ticket then head directly to Hasbro. Nothing is guaranteed.

it's nonsence like that keeps me away from new figures.
