So...Randy Bowen was asking for images of the Neo-Classic Iron Man armor for a forthcoming statue. I asked him about doing another Classic Iron Man statue as well? He said he was concerned that folks may have had enough of that armor. That gave me the idea to start a poll featuring ALL of the major Iron Man armors to see which ones folks would like to see produced as statues...

Bowen Designs is considering producing an Iron Man statue in his Neo-Classic Armor. Randy Bowen has plenty of front shots, but needs fans help with back & side shots. If you have anything that could help, please post it here...

What do you do with your toys? Do you...play with them? I'm 41 man. I collect, display, and take pics of my statues & toys, but I don't play with them. I'm not understanding your points at all...Leave a comment:

I got into Bowen Designs statues because they reminded me of my Mego dolls from childhood.

Oh but I do appreciate them... for the few minutes or so it takes to look and say wow thats neat. Statues do have a nitch... right behind Bobbleheads. Oh and there are those statues that have customizing parts you can swap out thats neat.Leave a comment:

That's funny, cause I know toy collectors who do the same thing. They open a figure, pose it for about 15 minutes until they find a pose they like, then on the shelf it goes, never to be touched again. Look how many loose figure listings on Ebay say "used only for display" or "unplayed with".
Oh well, to each his own. To me, statues are ART. Just because YOU can't appreciate them, doesn't mean there's nothing to appreciate.Leave a comment:

Its an impact for what? About 10 minutes to soak up all the details. Then what? Put it on a shelf admire it once in a blue moon. After a while its an interesting paper weight and a nightmare to dust.
Not to mention a fragile and expensive child and pet magnet.Leave a comment:

Absolutely. You're obviously not an artist. Look at the two images below. You'll notice how much more impact the statue has because the sculpt isn't broken up. When you take a nice sculpt, then cut it up to add knee pins, elbow pins, and ball joints...you kinda ruin it.

I understand your point, because I love action figures and enjoy posing them also, however, I have become a huge fan of statues, especially those of Randy Bowen & co.
To me, they are the ultimate representation of the character in three dimensions, fully realized and without the sculptural limitations placed on them by having to add articulation. There is a fluidity to a sculpt unbroken by joint lines that an action figure can never achieve.Leave a comment:

As a toy collector I never understood interest in statues. Comics you can read and reread. Action figures can be played with, posed and reposed.
A statue sits on the shelf and collects dust. And you can get alot more toys for the cost of one statue.. Go figure.Leave a comment:
