Target and Mattel.... old stuff on sale

I saw a post on another site that alerted us that Target was cutting the price on the JLU and infinite heroes that were sitting on their shelves. If you go to Matty Collectors Face book page there's an explanation and a request for us to go out and buy the remaining stock so that Target will make room to put new stuff on the shelves.

So last night I wnt to a local Target and found that the JLU tree packs were now $7.99. The were originally $9.99 and were jacked up to $12.99. Obviously why no one was buying. Seems it was all a clever rouge to keep shelf space till they could work out a deal with a new factory while keeping shelf space at Target.

So while I bought the Cap Atom and Fire & Ice sets I am curious to see where the prices will go once the new stuff arrives.

Not at the Target I was at today, still 12.99 for a 3 pack. And I am not going for Mattel's high pressure sales tactic. Buy crap I already have to get new ones.

I am actually surprised that Target hasn't already slashed these Prices...
Target is Nitorious for Marking something 50 percent off with only a Months Shelf Life.... I scored some Marvel legends figures a week after X-mas for like 3 & a Half a Piece ... just recently,.. & the JLU 5 Packs were like 7.98 or something,.. they had 3 of them like this...
... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.

always trading for Hot Toys Figures .

We are supposed to finally get a Target store here in Calgary this summer/fall. I hope they bring the US prices with them as well when it opens!!!

Target has a unique measure for determining pricing points in the marketplace. When they start shifting through old stock I've noticed they sometimes spike the price, especially on DVD's and toys, to try and pick up easy sells from unassuming customers before starting deep discounts that typically decline from one week to the next. It's an interesting philosophy that must work, because they do it alot.

Somebody save the pegs, because they are drowning in Kilowogs here.

There are several Targets in my area and they seem to discount stuff differently at each store. May be discounted 50% at one 25% at another and not at all at a third. Seems to be up to each store what they price their discounts at.
Too many toys. Not enough space!
