Yeah the bridge could have been so much better.
Question about the movie (Havent seen it yet) Is Nero the only romulan in the movie?
The crew of the Enterprise is great for collectors but kids (And some immature collectors *Seeker glances over shoulder) Want bad guys for the good guys to fight.
There were no Romulan crew dudes to fight? The guy ran the ship by himself?
What about cool aliens? Any in the movie, in the background even?
Even the Star Trek the motion picture made up some aliens to go with their series.

MY review of the new six inch Spock figure

Aigh!!!! My eyes... they burn!!! Make it stop!!
I'd like to think that it's the rose colored-glasses of my advanced age (a soon to be 50 year old baby boomer) but those figures are terrible... definitely easy to resist. They make the complaints of the past in the Playmates trek line (the odd body proportions) a thing of beauty by comparison.
The playsets might be nice but the figures ...... let's just say someone had a little transporter accident ....
Thanks for the review though... saved me a ton (for more Mego's)Just to give you a better idea I have literally seen a bunch of the 3.75" and 6" figures here locally now just warming the pegs and shelves at stores that I frequent. They are very plentiful and from the looks of things they are not selling well. I kid you not when I say that the figures that I seen at one particular store actually had a coating of dust on them. I only wished that I would have taken a picture of this at that time so I could have posted it here for all to see. I even found a carded 3.75" Scottie the other day at GoodWill for $3.00 already. Not good signs for the new Trek figures at all.

Yeah, If I had to pick one as a favorite I would pick the transporter out of them all. It is way neater than the other playsets IMO so far.Leave a comment:

The Transporter playset is actually very nice. The beaming gimmick is quite cool and works well. Now the bridge is fairly bare bones without the extra pieces from the figures to fill it out. It would have been nicer if it had some sound effects or something.Leave a comment:

That and word may be getting around FAST that the play sets are pretty crappy for the price. Then again this is Playmates we are talking about here. LOL! I do not belong to any Trek forums although I could just imagine the buzz going on there right now. I would like to be a fly on the wall just to see what is being said about the new play sets. I would imagine any real Trekkie (which I am not) would be looking at the play set and saying to themselves what the heck happened? They ruined it!Leave a comment:

My local Wal-Mart has the 3 3/4" and 6" figures and the Enterprise, as well as one set of the Barbies. It's nice to see Trek figures on the shelves again, but so far I'm finding all of them pretty easy to resist. I've yet to spot the 12" figures or any of the Hotwheels vehicles.

The bigger stuff like the bridge and the enterprise are not moving at all in my neck of the woods, must be the higher price point.Leave a comment:

Ultimately, it is your call of course. However, IF you are asking for some advice on this I would have to say forget about the bridge as it is pretty cheesey IMO. You will always be able to pick one up on eBay or some where even less expensive then the retail price of $50.00 if you are willing to wait it out and let the dust settle on the new Trek movie. Just my opinion though. To each their own.

I didn't see any of the Hotwheels Ships. I hope they stock those here though. I want them. I'm still contemplating if I should get the Bridge. They didn't have any of the 12 inch figures

I went to TAR-J the other day. They had just restocked the Star Trek figures. Not a huge selection. I did not buy any this time around. I did buy the bridge set. For whatever that is worth. It looks kind of cheesey to me. The figures were basically the same that I have seen elsewhere. Nothing erally new to report. I have yet to see the 12" Star Trek figures on the shelves other than the Barbie versions. The Hotwheels pegs were completely empty as in completely sold out. Not sure what the special occasion was with the wheels?Leave a comment:
