I was at Wamart and Target earlier today and there was ALOT of Star Trek at both stores. Either there not selling here or they just re-stocked. Even after looking at them close up I'm still not that interested. However the Bridge set does look kinda interesting

Trek movies are notorious for being "one Weekend Wonders" meaning all the fans go at opening then the thing deflates like a balloon pffffffbbbbbbbbttttttttt!
You'll know it's a hit with the public if it stays at say, #2 at the BO.
I'm not surprised these toys are flying off the shelves, lots of star trek collectors out there.Leave a comment:

I agree based on the current sales trend of the toy line as of this writing. The merchandise is really flying off the shelves here in my area just as I figured that it would. I just cannot believe how many Trek heads that are out there. Some peeps would buy them just because. Heck, I have even invested a little bit into the line so far. Not that I really dig them or anything. Who knows they may just turn out to be a really big collectible some day (not gonna hold my breath though
) The movie is sure to do well just with the amount of people going to see that are really into Star Trek. I for one will wait and can for it on DVD. To each their own of course.

I think Playmates is going to do well with this line, everything I've seen suggests they spent as little as possible. Even if the movie is a bomb or kids just don't dig on it, there will be enough adult collectors picking these up to protect their minimal investment.Leave a comment:

Not a problem on the pix. Glad I could help out. Ask and you shall receive.
I agree about the new Kirk head sculpt. I realize that it is a new/different Kirk altogether and I was not expecting the original Kirk. However, I just cannot find enough bad things to say about it. It is horrible and that pretty much sums it up. It looks like a head sculpt that I would have done trying to do an original Kirk head sculpt.
That is pretty bad! "I" might even could have done a better job than that.

Coolness! Thanks for the pics.
I have to admit the delta shield patterns on the shirts of the 6 inch figures doesn't look as bad as the horrible prototype lead us to believe. The Kirk head sculpt is still pretty bad though.Leave a comment:

I do use sidecutters...and I still manage to miss at least one of the darn things...plus the goofy elastics....Leave a comment:

Thanks for the idea. However, the wire snips was the first thing I thought of. (insert Dr. Phil) I have rode this rodeo before. As it pertains to other collectibles trying to get into them. Some times wire snips works and some times they might not. I do have wire snips sometimes they are just hard to get onto those little bitty ties without tearing something up on the card, package and or figure. Not a bad idea though. It sure beats covering the card with gas and setting a match to it I suppose.

Get a pair of wiresnips and the ties won't give you such a fit. On the figure, wow, is Playmates still stuck in the late 80's? Really low quality compared to other stuff that is out there.Leave a comment:

WARNING: There is some nudity. You have been warned.
Having said/typed that NOW scroll down and enjoy the pix.

I did kind of felt that way when I was trying to undue all of this little bitty ties.
The company must have got a real good bulk deal on those little ties to use in their packaging.
