Todays trip to the toy store!

Decided to drop by TRU today and see if the Trek stuff was in, as many in the US have reported. It was. Unfortunately, these figures look worse in person than the web-pictures floating around...absolutely horrible! Kirk looks like a kid I used to know in elementary school, cowlick, dazed expression and all! If he had a booger eating action feature, and frequently pee's himself while sitting in the command chair I would swear the figure was totally based on this kid.

I think the thing that really burns me is the Canadian 3 3/4" figures DONT include the extra bridge parts. Just the figure itself.AARGH!!! If your going to get these your further ahead to order them from the US and get all the accessories!!!

I was surprised to see the 6" DC figures were in stock though. It was easy to tell myself I dont need to collect this line when the only figure on the shelves was some leftover Bizarros from the previous series. Hawkman and Shazam were particularly well done, and the two pack of Green Lanterns (Hal and Abin Sur) looks great too. Luckily, I managed to talk myself outa' the store before I bought them!

I agree with the Trek Figures. I saw them yesterday and Walmart and I was not impressed with them at all. I picked up Kirk and put it right back and walked away. I expect to see them in the mark down area in a few months.

What Blows is the Fact that retail Stores will stock those Worthless Trek figures over the DC Universe figures.

I did see a Few of the 12 inch Star Trek figures in Toyfare last month, or the Month before. I thought they actually looked Quite Nice. I dunno if they were Playmates or Side Show though...

Yeah, today was the first time I have seen a regular store stock the 6" DC figures in a long time. We've been lucky with the smaller 3 3/4 DC figures. Everybody started carrying them about a month ago. I've managed to get most of the current line up, but am still looking for Robin, Wildcat, and the Question.

I dont think Sideshow is doing Trek movie stuff? Playmates and Mattel both have 12" figures though....the Mattel ones being part of the Barbie line.

I picked up five today at TRU. They're on sale for $24, as are the bridge and transporter playsets.

The 12" figures (Kirk, Spock, McCoy and 'Original' Spock) really are nice (and affordable). I bought an extra Spock to open right away and found it to be pretty well articulated. Forget any thoughts about keeping the box for repackaging, though. It might be easier breaking into Ft. Knox than getting these guys out.

Here's the new Spock with his 'original' Mego 12" counterpart.
