Dr. Who figures STINK!

I opened up some Dr. Who figures just now, and boy, do they STINK.
Really! Man, I cut open the packaging, and my wife, who was sitting five feet away said "Jeez, what's that Godawful smell?"

It's like opening up a can of paint.
I wonder: just how healthy is this? Breathing these fumes?

I ended up opening them all, and going to another room for an hour.
Let it be said: The Cybermen rule the Universe. They stink like Hell.

If I had bought a Stinkor, OK, but this......

I've noticed this from a lot of new toy lines. In fact, some companies have taken to punching air holes in the blister's to let the figures air out before they hit they shelves.
I'm assuming it might have something to do with the new non-lead based paints they are using??

It may sound strange but i also love the the smell of petrol when it comes out of the pump.

I noticed this with Sideshows 1/6 stuff.
Anytime I get anything in from SS, I let it air for a bit. It is rather potent. I always wonder if they slap 'em in the box wet.

Ha ha, I like the smell too! Not all of my Whoplastic has had that smell, though -- the Daleks have been notably odorless -- and it does fade rather quickly.
