    Moldy cloths in storage

I was just down stairs checking out the condition of all of my loose 12" 40th and Classic Collction Gi-joes. They are stored all loose in seperate coffin boxes from CotsWold collectors that have the clear top on them.

They are stored in a cool dry basement with a dehumidifier going 24-7. But they are stored pretty tightly with little or no air circulation all in large boxes.
I was checking them out and I noticed that several have gotten a white mold on them in various places only on certain parts, like cloth belts ETC, shirt only, pants only, or some times all over.

Does anyone else get this once and a while and how do you deal with it?

I'm thinking I gotta get them less tightly packed so air can circulate better and once I get them cleaned up, check them more often, it has been a while since I checked them last.
Anyone else have this issue with old or new items???
    Lets hear if you do/did.

Darn, I thought you were selling some moldy clothes.

I'd get em outta that basement for good. It will probably cause permanent damage, or discoloring. There must still be some moisture in the air.

I have several containers of MIB Star Trek 9 and 12" cloth uniform figs stored in my basement. I went through them all a couple yrs ago after several yrs of storage, and many had been whacked with the flaky white mold.

Not at all surprising considering the basement climate is anything but ideal, and they obviously don't get any air circulation trapped in their package. Eventually I'll probably have to open them, but in the meantime I just threw in some silicates, and will hope for no further problems.
