New MOTUC pics from NYCC: Hordak, Man-at-Arms, Tri-Klops and Teela
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
I personally like the stash,it's more authentic, that was one of the things I never got as a kid,why didn't he have one on the toy? it's funny i probably found more in thrift shops with painted stashes then with out I painted one on one of my doubles
He's not Duncan without the moustache. It's really cool that the figure comes with both heads though so you can have it that look exactly like the card art too.

I didn't notice that, makes better sense to do it that way.
Just read at toynewsi that Teela is supposed to come with an alternate head too. Might have to get two of her then, one to use as Teela and another for the Goddess.

Not trying to be a jerk here---but the cartoon---while a big
part of our childhoods (some more than others) is really nothing to me
compared to what I started "reading" in the enclosed in the toys comics
way back in '82 or whenever the line debuted.
I remember when I saw "Duncan" for the first time on the cartoon,
I thought the mustache was ugly/annoying---and still do.
If there's a head with a mustache then that's cool for those fans---
but I wouldn't desire one.
Otherwise---lovin' the pics---as usual, thanks for posting Werewolf.

The original MOTU mini comics and DC Mini series were awesome. No doubt about that. Still have mine. But for me, MOTU really became legendary when the cartoon aired. I remember seeing the intro for the first time and thinking it was the coolest thing ever.
It's really a matter of taste, so it's way cool Mattel is trying to please both by giving many of the figures multiple heads. Still haven't decided which version of Mer-Man I will display, cardback or toy. The cardback head is amazing but Mer-Man's original toy head with his "what has been seen cannot be unseen" expression has a lot nostalgia for me.

One thing I didn't mention was that along with the mini-comics which got me
excited to own those toys so much before the cartoon---were the actual
cardbacks that these figures are so apparently based on---just like
the comics, these were released years before the cartoon---had the same
effect on me---and the same mindset applies (for me).
Apologies, I missed that they were supplying multiple heads with OTHER characters too (other than Man-At-Arms) that's pretty cool of them.

why can't they make a 2 figures and have Teela her own person? i never understood the whole single character for her and the goddess
It's kinda complicated. Warning: Way too much trivia ahead.
Story wise that goes back to the original four storybook mini comics. They aren't very clear if Teela and the Goddess are two different people and kinda switch back and forth. In "He-Man and the Power Sword" the Goddess is shown to look like a green skin Teela (or Tee-La as it was spelled in that comic) wearing the snake armor that came with the figure. Then the following DC early mini comics have Teela with long blond hair and the Goddess (no longer green) again wearing the toy's snake armor.
Toy wise, from what I understand, Teela and the Goddess were going to be two different figures sharing the same body but with different heads and accessories. Mattel decided one female figure was risky enough and nixed that idea and released the merged figure.
Having the new figure come with two heads is, I think, kinda of a homage to all this.

Man,... I wish someone coulda scored me a Faker,.. I forgot to ask.
There was a ton left as we walked past the booth on the way out. Doc was right across from them. I bet there were at least 25 on the shelf and there was a room full of stuff where i bet they had a whole bunch left. Didn't see too many people slapping sown the $20 bucks, and I don't think $20 is too high so they obviously weren't impressed either. Bet some will be available from Mattel on their site sometime soon. My Commander X NYCC exclusive looked a hell of a lot better and at least he's a major character. Faker is basically..... a faker.
