    Marvel Universe figures

Ran across the new 3 3/4" MU figures the other day, or more accurately, Johnny Storm...the other figures were sold out already.
Wasnt too impressed, but bought one anyways. As I feared, the figures are done much the same as the Marvel showdown figures were. Too much articulation in a small package leads to a weird looking figure with very fragile joints. Johnny's head sculpt is downright oddball as well. Plus...these figures are bigger than the 3 3/4 scale advertised, causing them to look out of place with DCU, GI JOE, Indy, Star Wars, and all the other 33/4 stuff.
Again, this is all based on one figure. Hopefully the rest of this line looks better!?

I have Ironman, Johnny Storm, Spiderman and Dare Devil-They all are different sizes, Dare Devil is the same height as the DCU--Punishers head looked way too big. The taller the figure the more abs muscles as far as I can tell.

Using thier search in the right upper corner, with Marvel Universe, will show the characters.

Why can't toy lines be consistent anymore? Remember the Super Powers line? Every character was the proper size to one another. Flash was shorter than Batman, who was shorter than Batman, who was shorter than Superman. I haven't seen these Marvel figures, but the DCUIH figures are all over the map. They seem to come from several different lines. Some are very nice, others look like bootlegs, and the size is all over the map.

Of course DCD's supposed 6" line is notorious for this. Why can't toy companies work out scale better, when it was done right nearly 25 years ago?

Picked up Iron Man and Spidey today. They are worlds better than Johnny Storm, but I still like the DCU stuff better.

I'm with E2Chris---the scales on both these lines is all over the place. Made odder by the fact the DC stuff uses a set series of bodies for all the figures. I just noticed Doc Fate has "lifts" added to his boots to make him a bit taller, yet his head is kinda small for his body?? Weird.

I agree with you it's the same thing with diffrent articulation on figures in a line, IMO though I think DCD suffers from 2 things, one is the way DC charaters are drawn diffrent in Graphic novels and in comics, and they try to represent that in the figures, I have a batman and sone batman thats bigger than dooms day from the classic supes doomsday set I have.

and the second thing is there are so many diffrent lines from diffrent stories that these figures seem to fit in with each other in a line but not nessacarily with any other line

It was this factor that primarily drove me back into collecting/customizing Megos. I was getting tired of all the different variations of scale and decided, since Mego got it right the first time (minus Hulk and Thing, of course), I'll stick with them.

I MAY pick up a Spidey (my favorite hero) and a Goblin figure, but that'd be it.

No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."
