Hot Toys Dark Knight Batman and Joker

I had been salavating over these since I first saw pics months ago, but deemed them too expensive. Ever since having kids, I have become a very thrifty collector, and I try to not spend too much money all at once. My wife Cindy kept asking me what I wanted for Christmas, and I'd jokingly say "Hot Toys Batman", knowing that it was way beyond our spending limit of $100 for each other.

Well, was I surprised on Christmas Eve to open a bag with a folder containing two certificates, promising that both the Batman AND Joker figures were on the way! They were delayed until January 7th, so I wouldn't get them until after Christmas, but who cared!!!

So I received them the other day...and I can honestly say I consider these more art than action figure. The likeness, the level of detail, the fact that they look like they could just move at any moment makes them far away the finest and best made "toys" I have in my collection. Just had to share some pics.

I rearranged my displays and put my 6" DC Direct figures (all 4 shelves of them!) in a Rubbermaid tote to make room for these. I also put my 13" DC Direct figures below. I got the Bat-characters up, need to finish putting the rest on the shelf below.

And yes, those are Barbies and Kellys in the background. My wife has some on the other side of the case.

Thanks BK. As you can see, I STAYED on budget, but Cindy didn't.

You can't tell it from my crappy photos, but the Batman and Bruce/Bale heads are just as well done as the Joker. The way they sclupted Batman holding his mouth and jaw makes him look really determined. Spot on Bale.

By the way, that case is from a Hallmark store that closed here in town. They are nice, but they have to be taken apart when moved. Learned that lesson the hard way.

Those Hot Toys figures are great. The company is getting some really good sculpts out and the resin/plastic they are using for the portraits is outstanding for level of detail and fleshtones. The Harvey Dent/two face from HT does look like it could walk off of your shelf.

Very cool bat setup. I like the DC directs as well. Never knew they did a catwoman.

                nice stuff

The Bank Robber version is THE sixth scale figure of the year, no doubt about it.

But man, Hot Toys is killing my wallet. With the second Batman, the BR Joker, and the Bat Pod all hitting about the same time, it was bad enough. But both Two Face and the Tumbler should be here any time now...ouch.

Michael, your reviews (and guest reviews) of these figures is what really made me want them. So I blame you.

Yeah, that bank robber Joker is sweet. But I'm more than happy with the original, so I'll stick with it. I am probably going to get the Two-Face though. I just can't help myself.

I have no display space for the large Tumbler and Bat-Pod, thank goodness!!!
