Has anyone spotted any of the Temple of Doom wave of the Indiana Jones line in their area. If someone could pick these up for me, I would pay you back (with postage) plus you would have my eternal gratitude!
TOD is gonna be a toughie to find. Most retail stores bailed on the line and have no reorders in as the pegwarmers are still there even after markdowns. The best place to get them is from online distributors that are ordering from Hasbro. I can get a case from my distributor, but it has something like 6 Indy figures along with the TOD figures in the assortment. Good luck with it.
I know that there a really tough find. I've tried to avoid eBay but it looks like I'm not going to be able to if I want to get these guys. I already broke and got Indy.
The figures I want are: Willie Scott, Short Round, and Mola Ram.
Sorry to say, I really don't think these will be found at retail. It was pretty well publicized that hasbro was dropping the line. That coupled with the pegwarming nature of ALL those Indys and Mutts makes this final wave special order only. Throw in the repetition of history and the ONLY way to have a factory made Shorty or Willie and there go the big bucks. I wish I had ordered more cases of these awhile ago.
Brians Toys still has a set at 110 for the 6 TOD figures. About 20 per if you count in shipping. That might be the cheapest you will find them. My distributor has the cases at about 100 after shipping. And there is the dead weight of 6 other figures (5 of which are Indiana Jones - sheesh).
Once again good luck. If you find a deal - buy in bulk on this one.
rche
btw Starsky, the TOD figures are Willie Scott, Short Round, Mola Ram, Temple Guard (thuggie), and Chief Temple Guard. I think there is a specific TOD Indy there to, but I have lost count of the variations on Indiana Jones in this latest snafu. There are also five more Indys and a Mutt in this case assortment.
TOD Indy is packed at one per case. In addition, there are 2x ROTL Indys, 2x bazooka Indy (from the new movie?), a machine gun Indy (last crusade), and a Mutt.
all in all 6 figures for the TOD line and 6 fillers. I do wish they would have just doubled up the case asst. This is typical treatment for the line in general. Odd timing, really poor case packs. At least they did get to Shorty, although I am not all that thrilled with the Willie Scott. The guards look good tho, and so does Ram.
My OldLady works at Target,.. & she said Today they threw All Indi Stuff on Clearance... I know that doesn't help the Hunt for the 6,.. but if you wanted any of the others,.. get em While you can. I hope to score the couple of vehicles I put off on buying..
... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.
Whilst fighting the Boxing day hordes, I stopped by a TRU today. Lo and behold they not only had all the Indy figures on clearance but they had one each of Mola Ram, Temple Guard, Willie Scott, and Chief Temple Guard. naturally, I quickly snagged 'em.
If I can screw up the courage to go out again tomorrow (Canada's Boxing Day sales make the US's Black Friday look like a Church picnic!) I will hit some of the other TRU in town and see if I can turn up some more.
A side note, the Temple of Doom figures I've seen so far feature the best sculpts and spray apps I've seen from this line. Too bad they shut it down already...if they had continued with new figures from Raiders et al, done this well, the line would be much more popular.
Just got my ToD Indy today and I have to agree, if this figure is any indication, the sculpts are light years ahead of the first run. There have been some head scratching decisions along this whole line. Here's a very minor one but indicative to the lack of thought. I bought the Map Room Indy today at clearance, mainly to get the Ark. Here's Indy in a nice rendition of the costume he wore in the map room but there's no Staff of Ra. Belloq's figure has a staff, Salah has a shovel, but no Staff of Ra?

I just TODAY got my 6 TOD figures from toyrocket for an order I put in
...ahem...Oct, 2nd---you can imagine how nice it was to finally get these.
Just as I would try for the JLU figures, I used putty on the feet of these guys
to help set them up better. That freakin' Chief Guard (the big one)
is a real bean to stand even so!
Still---I love 'em---I had a Ram already----now I have 2 to display.
Ram has to be the best---the Chief is impressive too---but really all 6 make
for a great fun wave.

Sooooooooo agreed. What the HECK.
That Ark should have come with a gloved, jacketed regular Indy anyways. (it's the one from that scene--- and for some reason I love having
extra regular Indy figures---figures without a dang "molded turban" head).
I guess the plus side is now we have a "modern" Map Room Indy
that we can display with the "classic" Map Room playset.

Apologetically, I don't have an extra---but I really think she's worth getting.
She's not that posable---but easy to stand and, frankly, pretty to look at--
in the face of many ugly female sculpts HASBRO has released in the past.
