He's terrific. I like the dynamic body's proportions, and EE is a great vintage feature.
The uniform is crisp--what's the origin of the trousers?
I like your SAS figure, too!Last edited by PNGwynne; Feb 28, '24, 12:02 AM.WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment

I love seeing the real deal JOES where the collector has been not only smart, but smart for a long time, in acquiring pieces. I realized that for me, I waited too long to get into collecting to lay hands on much vintage stuff in nice condition, but....I have had an absolute blast doing the research and putting together a representative collection built largely on 40th and Timeless sets. That's been supplemented by vintage when I can and tied together with really nice 3rd party reproduction uniforms and parts. It's hard to believe, but even the 40th and Timeless stuff is coming up on 20 years old and really starting to creep up in price.
And vintage can be surprisingly durable. My Action Man 40th tanker jacket totally disintigrated like most modern pleather.

The trousers are from a 40th Anniversary Marine (had an extra uniform available when I kitted out the Marine Jungle Fighter) so they lack the pocket on the left leg of the trousers that an Action Man Basic Soldier should have. They'll work as a placeholder until I can get the correct ones.Comment

I added a late-issue style Paratrooper and a Talking Commander to my collection. Swore I wasn't going to get into Action Man, but I may be somewhat hooked.Attached FilesComment

Great trio. Where's your source for beret badges--Cots?WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment

I was able to get vintage uniforms and figures for the two latest figures. Just had to play the long-game and cobble together everything from several eBay auctions over the course of months. Even had my first go at head and neck restringing. The binoculars are from Cots and the scarf is a reproduction, but the rest (on the two latest additions) is all vintage Action Man, to the best of my knowledge. The Basic Soldier is a mix of vintage and repro, but the beret and badge are vintage as are the head and rifle.Comment

Thanks, they look so nice.
I'm struggling with my Tom Stone beret, I was hoping there were repro badges.WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment

I couldn't let a full year go by without a post in this thread. Anyone picked up anything JOE related in the last year?
Cotswold had some Action Man 40th boots at one point in the last year so I picked up several pair of those for my Action Man figures. I also snagged the correct pants for my dynamic body/eagle eyes basic soldier. The only figure I added in the last year is the Black Spider Rendezvous set from the Timeless Collection.Comment

That's a beautiful diver.
And you can't go wrong with Palitoy's "deluxe" Atomic Man and Bullet Man. I like them so much, I had to make a custom Tom Stone to round out the British faction of the Adventure Team.
That custom was my Joe effort last & this year, as well as a custom Safari Super Sandy. Also, I did a custom 12" Dr. Drago, inspired by Big JIm Cipsa, using the Hobbycrash Shaolin figure.
Next up, custom Zargonite trooper.
EDIT: I forgot one: I did a 12" custom Slade as a tribute to the Shindana figure. He's a bad mammer-jammer, turned out well.Last edited by PNGwynne; May 25, '25, 12:55 AM.WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment

^^^^ I'd like to see that Slade figure!
Well my last Joe purchase appears to be from January 2024, and it was a small Joe lot, but my goal in purchasing that lot was to get a vintage purple Captain Action standard uniform that was mixed in with everything. I guess the extra Joe stuff went in the stash pile.
I really need to sell off all of the Joes and accessories I don't have on display and let someone else enjoy them.Comment
