Henshin Cyborg head and torso tooling were repurposed from these. The torso's chest area is smoother than the original GI Joe/Action Man versions.

Thank you for posting the Secret Base picture, Danny. And thanks for making me aware of it initially, I admired yours.

This is my first time seeing the Takara Joes. Didn't even know they existed. I regularly learn something new from this community and I am consistently marveled by what you folks have collected over the years. Once again, Danny....hats off to ya', mate! Those figures and the Secret Base are neat to see!

Some of the Takara stuff, much like Palitoy Action Man, is just amazing--so creative.

I bought a Takara Joe 1971 playset called Secret Communications Base for my villain Joes, it has a simulated-radar electronic feature
and is one of the best playsets I've ever seen seen. Has a James Bond vibe.

When I first looked at the one standard soldier, it kind of reminds me of mego Dr. McCoy.

Nifty! Thanks for sharing. I was totally unaware of these.

The German in the black uniform looks like Bing Crosby

Interesting, I did not know of the head variants, or that the Combat Joes were newer than the New Joes.

Takara New Joe flocked bearded version. Just got this guy in. I have several of the smooth haired version, and the German head, but hadn't picked up the flocked version before.

Original flocking on this one and these are Takara shirt/pants, belt and boots.
