I never usually see any Big Jim stuff in my area, seems like it wasnt very popular here in Montreal back in the day.

Its been a Big Jim week.

I got a small order in from Toronto this morning. Bought several broken figures for next to nothing. One of the figures is this guy:

he is in a nice decent shape but missing his left hand but I have other figures with missing limbs. So I matched the arm color as best I could and found a donor.

now this is the first time doing this since always though that only the legs could be replaced but I saw a YouTube vid that showed how to remove the arms.

ok, removing the arms was not difficult, the hard work is putting them back on.

when you remove the arm, the pin holding the arm stays attached to the body. It’s almost impossible to reconnect the arm to the white pin afterwards. So you need to pry out the white pin out, attach the pin to the arm and then attach it back to the body. Ouff

this was tedious since my first time trying this but here are the results :

color match is very good. Arm works like a charm and now have a left hand !

If the rubber on the arms is really discolored/pitted, you can use small, sharp scissor to cut it open. Peel it away from the interior armature. You'll see how the wrist pegs are inserted, and can then remove the hands using a stylus from the inside-out. (The wrist peg, depending on issue, is stronger than the hand/wrist connection.) This is especially useful if you have a nice Dr. Steel chromed hand and want to switch it out to a better arm of condition/color match.
