Macross/Robotech is one of my all-time favorite animes.
Straight outta' Yokohama came an ebay package that made my smile. A Takatoku Valkyrie, in a scale that I didn't even know existed until recently. Takatoku was the first company to put out these amazing triple-change toys. They eventually sold their molds to Bandai, who took the Valks to extraordinarily new levels.
So, 1/55 was the common scale, but Takatoku also released a smaller 1/100 scale that also transformed into all 3 stages. This one is in between, at 1/76 scale. No transforming, but a nice amount of die-cast. One thing they all have in common is the beautiful artwork on the textured boxes.
Here's my 1/55 next to new 1/76.
