Seriously, that is odd. And oddly presicent, as you pointed out, with the Batman '89 design. Batman was never in all black before that. Even more peculiar, he found Superman's missing trunks, before they were missing!

Thanks for the history on the Joe knock-offs. I knew the broad strokes, but the whole thing is fascinating.
