Sunday on Collectors Corner Major Action Figure Collection
Ok Call not Corner. It’s Central for me too but I figure it’s better to leave off the time so people can look it up for themselves instead of blaming me if they miss it haha. It was nice seeing Mego Batman and Robin in the Batmobile on broadcast television again.
I watched it and the collector said he had close to 7,000 items, quite amazing, pretty much every toy line created. I just wished they could have showed more, I didn’t see anything Star Wars but I’m sure they had it.
He didn’t make a trade, because he already had duplicates of the items offered, just crazy.

Yeah the end trades are staged and stupid. The superman episode they asked to break up a complete Christopher Reeves suit for a non-displayable George Reeve muscle padding undersuit. I wonder why they said No ?
While it was nice to see such Mego-centric celebration, as an Apes collector that was hard to watch with inaccuracy and misobservation by the *expert.*
That show would greatly benefit from some pre/post-production fact checking and a (better) script.
It was fun to watch and the collection was so impressive. I wish they'd done a slow pan over ever wall in the Toy Land cabin. But yeah, the details are often off on these shows. Not taking the Empire Spider-Copter "shield" out of the Mego's Spider-Man hand made it look like it was an accessory that came with him.
I kind of wish they'd drop the trade hook, but that's the pitch for the show. Occasionally they will actually offer up a good trade, but it's usually pretty much "Yeah, no thanks."

This drives me up the wall every time!
All that cool stuff and they whiz the camera around like they're afraid you might see something! I wonder if they have a lot of unused footage. Seems like a missed opportunity to document a wonderful collection that might never be seen by the general public again!
