I was almost the owner of a boxed Remco Frankie, but unfortunately the transaction fell through... The Remco monsters are a little more in my current price, range as opposed to the AHI's, although I do favor the AHI sculpts. What I really want, is the Remco Frankenstein "Monsters at Home" puppet.

Wouldn't mind one of these either. These are just too cool!!

I got one of those recently and am currently hooked, they're addictively cute.

Speakin' of Remco, something that had been evading me for many moons finally came in:

That's beyond nice! You're really getting into the monsters lately. I'd like to collect the Remco stuff someday.

The Remco Creature is definitely one of the best renditions of the classic monster, even with the baggy jammies You need to start saving up if you want to score a boxed 9" Phantom, though.

It sort of crept up on me, for years I'd start a collection and then never finish it, sell it off. I just woke up one day and decided to try again.

How I regret selling my boxed "Phanthom" I found in a hidden auction......

I remember being somewhat creeped out by those Remco monster stacked up high on shelves in my local Dollar General store. That Creature is sweet!

No new non-Mego toys for me.

I have been on a multi year mission in completing a hand carved Anri Kuolt 6 inch nativity set. There are 100+ figures/animals to it and they are expensive. I just plucked two figures off of Ebay that I needed for around $100 each which isn't too bad considering they were only made a few years ago and fetch around $350 each retail. Not too many people thinking about Christmas in August which is why I suspect I got what I thought was a good deal.

Other than that, my youngest son is real interested in coin collecting. We started off with a nice Buffalo nickel, a nice Franklin Half, and a Walking Liberty Half and he is completely stoked. The new Andrew Jackson coins were just released so we have a few rolls and I just purchased a magnifying glass so he can see if he can find any strike errors on the coins.

To make it even more difficult, some figures were discontinued which makes some of them near impossible to find but they do show up on Ebay from time to time.

Luckily, I found a semi-hidden auction years ago which was an incredible vintage set with about 20 figures or so (it was made in the 1950's). The newer figures are still hand carved but they do machine lathe part of the sculpt and the detail isn't quite as nice. Personally, I will pay a premium for a vintage piece over a newer piece but other collectors prefer to own the newer ones so I guess to each his own. I don't mind buying a duplicate vintage figure and selling off my new figure since it seems to be a wash.

It's very much like collecting a minty carded Mego set although I think the highest priced nativity figure is about $1200 or $1300 but you can drop about $15-$20K in a complete set before it's all said and done which has to be done in small doses....for me at least.

How funny, I remember that Spidey-Wallet also, ha ha! I used to have that as a little kid. My grandmother got it for me for Christmas & I was kinda bummed-out that it wasn't the Batman one...thanks for the memories.

Sadly it's a non talker but that just means I have to provide my own voice. My children have no idea who Redd Foxx is but they seem enthralled by Daddy's new puppet.

It's a good thing it doesn't talk. Foxx had one of the dirtiest mouths I'd ever heard. Very cool and unusual item.
