Did a classic seller ever beg you to not buy their merchandise ?

For me a few examples … happened mostly 20+ years ago

Esco George Harrison … Price $70.00 … very beat up with missing chalk and paint everyware…
Thought I could fix it up and re-sell as "restored"
Seller wasn't having none of it.
    Firm, $70.00 or nothing
    I chose nothing

    Galoob A-Team 4 loose figures set --- Included loose Van --- $225.00
    Offered a hunnert bucks cash-money.
Seller acted like I insulted him and blew me away

Mego Frenchie Invisible Girl MOC (green face)
    Price, $85.00
    Offered $40.00
NOPE … was still sitting there a year later - Reading, PA

Scrapping the bottom of the barrel
    Michael Knight loose action figure....
    Selling price, $30.00
    My price-- $10.00
Seller refused --- Guessing she still has it burning a hole in her "if only" nostalgia trunk

Movie Poster (13-ish by 40-ish) HERO AT LARGE (John Ritter)
Back in the day LOVED that movie !!!
Found a movie poster for it listed at $45.00
LOVED the movie but ain't now way i'm going to pay $45.00 for it's obscure movie poster.
    Offered $15.00
Seller basically told me to Freak-off (G rated version )

Good news…. There are several Hero at Large posters on EBay for less than $20.
    Fresh, not from concentrate.

I find most sellers really don't want you to make an offer...even if they say "Make me an offer." If they aren't open to negotiation, they should just put a sign out front that says "prices are firm" like many antique mall booths do.

If it's a toy show or a flea market and it's marked high, just come back later in the show, they usually are more motivated, if not, they just brought it to show it off.

I usually don't throw half price offers out, unless they are so high priced it's comical. I will also make offers, and will tell them good luck dusting it for a long time if they won't budge on the price.
