1982 Ideal Team America Promo Catalog

Ideal Team America Promo Catalog After years of being marketed as an Evel Knievel toy line, Ideal toys had a severe problem with Knievel’s career hitting rock bottom. They had a hit toy concept but needed a new marketing method. Ideal tried classic monsters with the Scare Cycles in 1979 but regrouped and launched Team […]

I had the stunt cycle, and then got the Dune Buggy for Christmas of 1982. Mine came with Wolf. I so wanted that Captain America set, but never saw it. At least I have the Cap rider now!

That Cap on the Chopper is all sorts of awesome.
You are transparent; I see many things... I see plans within plans.

I have zero memory of ever seeing these in stores.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I remember seeing the Marvel Comics Team America, but it was around the time I started to really notice boys. I have a few of the figures saved in with my Megos. I do have their comic books. I do not remember seeing clothing of them, and since I was wearing comic book t-shirts even back then I would have picked up a few.

I never saw any of these as a youth. I had the basic box ek set and the scramble van. And I was able to get Megos to sorta kinda sit on the cycle for a ride. Spiderman worked best with his lack of accessories. I know different nostalgia companies have done the EK set over the years. Why can't we get a mainstream toy company to do the Energizer and vehicle like these with either in house characters (Snake Eyes vs Storm Shadow race set?) Or a TV / Movie license (Batman/Riddler maybe?)

The Snake River canyon jump was finally completed
Forty-two years ago, Knievel attempted—and failed—to jump a canyon in a rocket designed by Scott Truax’s dad. Now Truax wants a do-over.

Evel Spirit made the jump on Sept. 16, 2016.

Robert Truax’s is best known as the father of Sea Dragon:
