1984 Ideal Toys Robo Force Catalog

Robo Force was a nicely designed series of Robot Action Figures that seemed to be largely influenced by Star Wars. The line, despite having an animated special, was not a commercial success. For some reason, I really was infatuated with this toyline. I had Maxx, Blazer, Hun-Dred and Enemy (what an original name!). I also had the villain vehicle, the Dread Crawler. It looks a lot like a MOTU vehicle, honestly.

My child brain tries to convince me that this line was out a year or so before Transformers, around the time Go-Bots began to appear, but I know that's wrong. Maybe I just bought into this line before being bit by those two.

Either way, I integrated the robots into about all of my play patterns, with other lines. They were a lot of fun!

I was deep into MOTU and Super Powers back then, but I recall these.

Sort of a reworking of Zeroids, was this Ideals last gasp?
