This is one of my all-time favorite lines. I was well out of toys in '84 but when I saw this line advertised on the back of a comic book I just couldn't believe someone was actually not only making Batman and Superman but Hawkman, Green Lantern and Penguin. I actually bought them when they finally showerd up in stores and I believe this line got me to thinking about my beloved Megos for the first time in years.
I did have all but 3 figures carded and all the accessories and playsets MIB at one time but have sold everything over the years. I've since accquired a complete set loose and Cyborg and Mantis MOC. I tried to sell them at MegoMeet but had no takers so maybe I'll try and complete a carded set. Who knows.
They are all my favorites...sigpic WANTED: Boxed, Carded and Kresge Carded WGSHComment

The pair of Clark Kent and Superman are among my favorite toys. I keep them together in a Fossil watch Superman Telephone booth. But I didn't pick up on these until they were long gone. I think I started getting them in 1990.This profile is no longer active.Comment

By the time that the Super Powers figures came out I was long out of toys. Was it 1984? I was a junior in high school that year. I recall seeing the figures in Toys R Us and being quite impressed with the looks of them.
Thanksgiving week of 1986 I was vacationing at my parents' timeshare in Shawnee-on-Delaware, PA. One day I took my brothers and a friend to the K-Mart in East Stroudsburg, PA. We had never been to one or had ever seen one but my youngest brother, age 10, wanted to go there because the ads for the second & third waves of AWA wrestling action figures mentioned that they were available at K-Mart. My brother went ape**** because K-Mart had all of the AWA figures and he was able to get all of the ones he needed/wanted. While strolling around the toy section I came upon a bin of the Super Powers action figures. They were all lined up in the bin like comic books would be in storage boxes, they weren't on pegs. I noticed that the price tags had lines through them and handwritten on the tags were $1.00. I grabbed up one of each and as I walked to the cashiers, my friend was was looking at me and shaking his head. So I turned around and put the figures back in their bin. I forget how many I had in my arms but I do know it was most all of the "normal" DC heroes and villains. Nothing like Golden Pharoah or Cyclotron.
I always kick myself in the *** for not buying them. When Toy Biz released their action figures in 1989 using the Kenner molds I jumped all over them. But it just wasn't the same. Somewhere along the way I did acquire two Canadian packaged Super Powers of Superman and Flash. I think I still have them somewhere still on their cards.ScottComment

Green Lantern turned out the best ~ Batman was good as well. Loved the Batmobile. I just need to pick up GA, 1st issue Robin (slightly different than the later issues..), and an Aquaman..

Love this line I was older and didn't care! I still have my Green Lantern,Flash and Superman from when they first came out. I've added many over the years although I haven't completed the line. Probably my favorite line of figures from the 80's.Comment
