    They Still Stand

Props to Myspace pal "The Comatose Boy" for these amazing pictures from Grand Junction Colorado where the remanants of an old school rocket park can be found. THe top of the rocket is now closed to the public, but tell me that isn't cool.

An old school Saucer too, man finding this is gold!

Wow! Great to see something like that survive so many years of local government 'improvements'

If I had one of those near me I'd put in a request to have it heritage listed, seriously.

    Cheers,
    Will

I remember those. We had some in a park near us in Maryland along with an old jet fighter you could crawl through. (All the guts were removed and you could crawl from the back to the cockpit and all over. Lots of fun.
Too many toys. Not enough space!

WOW! We had the saucer/satellite at our school. Can you believe they let kids climb on those things with no helmets or safety straps back then, LOL. Remember the vomit cup? It was a dish shaped saucer at a slight angle like that, you got in and the other kids spun the hell out of it.

The idiots tore all the cool stuff out and asphaulted the playground for a while, that went over real well. Now I think it's swings over pea gravel.

Just outside of Rockville. Off Montrose road I believe. It was a subdivision called Walnut Woods and was between the Rockville Pike and the Loop Highway that goes into DC. This was 69-73. I went to Tilden (?) Jr. High and I forget the elementary school name.
