Anyone ever have a "Sun and Snow Racer" ?

I talked a lot about this to people that know 70's toys and it seems nobody remembers this toy .. Even though I specifically remember TV commercials for it, there's absolutely no info on it on the net ...
BTW, I used to have one myself

It was called a Sun and Snow Racer .......

It was a full sized (for kids) riding toy with wheels (about 4 ft long) .......
It was made to resemble an old style racing car ......
Colour was powder blue and it had a racing number (perhaps 7)

The gimick of this riding toy was ..... When it snows, you can pop the wheels off and put on ski's (which came with the car)

The steering wheel still worked with the 4 ski's on, so you actually can partially steer your way down a hill on snow.

    Like I said,
This toy must have been at least semi-popular because I remember TV commercials for it, but it seems today --- nobody knows what i'm talking about.

Anyone ever have (or heard of) this toy besides me ?

Sorry, Mike. It doesn't ring a bell. AND I was a TV junkie when I was a kid. I remember most everything I watched during the 70's.

I will say, though, that just because it was on TV does not mean it was popular. Sometimes, a TV campaign is used to try and push a product with no results. (remember, part of Mego's pitch was that they would make their products successful with a great ad campaign).

Also, the some products are only advertised in certain markets. Maybe it was advertised where you grew up (NY stations, right), but not in other places. That might explain why no one else recalls it. I grew up in Philly, so some advertisers would skip us in favor of NY and DC.

      That's very possible, Bill

I can't imagine the South having much use for a toy riding car with ski's on it

The only thing I remember is something similar to it. But it didn't have tires and it only had three skis, not four.

A little boredom and some surfing came across this. Nope, sled wouldn't of been much fun here in Texas.

Also found a reference to a Marx tv commercial.

              30) SUN N SNO RACER BY MARX: boy riding play sports car, turns into snow mobile/sled TOY.

I remember the Krazy Kar, but I never got close to owning it.
                  It's all good!

My driveway was dirt, so Crazy Car wouldn't have done me no good

I remember it but never had one. It was made by Marx, same people who did Big Wheel, Krazy Kar, etc. By the way, I'm looking for clear photos of a vintage Krazy Kar box (or an actual box). Also, original box for Big Wheel. Anyone?

Found these pics on eBay long ago:

Pretty cool toy but must of been heavy to haul up a hill in the snow.
