Hasbro Super Joe added to Plaid Stallions Action Figure Archive

Added some new pics and information to our Hasbro Super Joe page at the Action Figure Archive. I have a real fondness for this short-lived but unique toy line by Hasbro, most people at the time didn’t even realize it was supposed to be G.I. Joe, this is mainly because he’s eight inches tall. Wow, I didn't know Nick Cardy was involved! I knew he had pretty much moved out of comics into advertising, mostly for films at this point.

It's so sad this line is just crumbling inside its packaging like this. I find it odd that histories of GI Joe gloss over it, because it seems like the perfect middle step between the very successful 12" Joes, and the 3.75" RAH figures that will follow.

Super Joe is long overdue for reissues.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I like the Super Joe concepts and characters. The toys (barring Gor & Terron)--not as much, though as a kid I had Luminos. They have a great style--had they been another wave of 12" AT Joes as a follow-up to Atomic Man and Bullet-Man: wow.

        So I made a set .
