Anybody remember Sesame Street full size hand puppets ?

Back in the 70's I was a little too old to enjoy them as toys but I did put on shows for my nephews and nieces.

I remember them as being REALLY good quality and sturdy.

They were somewhat life-size or perhaps a bit scaled down

Either way they were crazy-CRAZY neat.

    Anybody else remember these ?

Oh yeah! I had Cookie Monster and Bert and Ernie. Bert and Ernie were HEAVY. I remember whacking myself in the head with one of them while I was trying to put on a puppet show on my couch. One of them came down and cracked me on the head!

I also recall feeding my Cookie Monster actual cookies, which resulted in crumbs going down my arm and onto the floor.

Years later we found an Ernie at the flea market, and my kids played with him. Great, sturdy toys, and very show accurate!

Absolute classics! And yeah, those Bert and Ernie heads were solid! I was always wanted Roosevelt Franklin but, alas, I would have none. Someday.

        WANTED - Solid-Boxed WGSH's, C.8 or better.

Nice detail on those. Didn't know they existed.

These were made by Child Guidance (Topper and then Gabriel), the same line that had the finger puppets I love so much.

i had bert and ernie. they were definitely heavy and solid. actually came across the Bert when we cleaned out my moms attic to sell the house years back. it was pretty beat to hell after going through my and my 4 siblings and then in the attic for 30+ years. still heavy though, lol

I remember these very well and had Oscar the Grouch while I was in kindergarten and wanted to keep him in those old school trash cans. I remember we could take one toy to school one day and everyone practically had them, I was the only one who had Oscar, I felt kind of special for some reason. They also made a Big Bird too, I remember kids having that.

I had Ernie as a kid, and got a thrashed beater a few years ago. He's in really rough shape, but still really cool.
