Strawberry Shortcake!! I totally remember the metal one but I don't remember ever seeing the vinyl one.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Of course, kid-me always wanted a character that I loved like the Marvel heroes or Spidey. As early as teen-me and definitely by adult-me, I found the generic themed ones hilarious, the ones trying to cash in on a fad or something popular. I love that Disco one. Even the Cyclist makes me chuckle a bit. I've taken to buying vintage iron-ons and putting them on cheap t-shirts. I still smirk when I put on my one that simply says "Karate."
