Apes Prison Wagon

I'm loving reading the inaugural issue of Toy-Ventures, and I was looking at all the great Apes merchandise from AHI. Was the Prison Wagon ever repurposed and used with another line? I feel like I've seen it somewhere in some other form (maybe without the friction drive even), with just a "regular" driver. Perhaps in a western set? Anyone know?
