    My Toy Room tour

I finally bit the bullet and created the first video episode of my "Those Wonderful Toys" Podcast series. And what better place to start than a tour of my recently renovated toy room? Everyone is doing it!

Thanks a certain Mr. Heiler for his advice, and of course inspiration. More planned to come!

Neat! What a wonderful collection. Even some Strawberry Shortcake.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

      Awesome vid. Thanks for sharing.

Those Whitman coloring books were the highlight for me. I had the Superman, Cap America, Batman and Spidey ones. Loved them.

Thanks! Cindy let me work my Tetris-like collectible stacking ability on her stuff too, for the most part. She was pleased with the result.

That was kind of a last minute thing. Those cases are too dark, really, and the bottom shelf just gets lost. Putting those brightly colored coloring books out front really makes them POP, and I love those painted covers!

It's a vicarious thrill to see these collections, I don't have room to display my collection and mine is not very eclectic.

I enjoyed seeing the Barbies, too--the Pop Life! ones are terrific. Thank for sharing, Chris. Maybe Rob can share his Sea King collection?

And, what's the origin of the large Infantino Batman statue, with his cloak raised? I like it!

Cool tour. Lots of great stuff.

Question if you can answer it. My wife collects a lot of Harry Potter stuff and I saw two of the Heroworld 2-packs on the wall in the toy room that she does not have (we only ever found the initial 5 pack in our local Targets). I saw one had Hagrid and one other characters, but I couldn't make out who it was. I also could not make out who was in the other two-pack. Could you tell who the characters were so I can better look for them online (or at shows) for my wife?

I will pass the Aquaman Shrine request along to Rob. I know he has his stuff on display in his new apartment.

That Carmine Infantino Batman is from the Warner Bros. Studio Store. Believe it or not, I think it retailed for about $60. It's such a great centerpiece. As you can see beside it, they also made bookends, a lamp and a few other items in Infantino's style around that time.

Sure, those Heroworld two packs are: Hagrid and Draco Malfoy, and Professors Snape and Quirrell. I think we found those marked down to almost nothing at Target, you know how that goes. You never know how you're going to find in those Target clearance aisles if you're lucky.

Thanks. I have a 12.5" SA/Infantino Batman statue fron the WB store, preparing to throw a batarang. I also have some Batman animated figural plaques. I miss that store!

Thanks. Our closest Target is about a half hour away (there's 3 equidistant ones from us in the Dayton area), and we never saw those at any of the three. However, everything else we shop i (except Half Price Books ) is in town, so we only get to check if we are making a specific run to one of those three areas, and i is easy to miss stuff.

Oh yeah, I remember that smaller one! I wanted that one too, but once I got the big one, I thought I'd better stop. I REALLY miss those stores. They were actually very affordable, and had some great stuff.

Our closest Target is about an hour away. I work near it now (well, in theory I do, when all this clears up), but even now I still have a hard time keeping up with their stock. Target usually either sells through or clearances stuff so fast its very easy to miss stuff, even if you are actively hunting for it. Cindy also has the Heroworld 5 pack. It's in the living room, so it will be amongst the Potter stuff in our second video.

Cool. I have a ton of projects I am getting to in the house while I am not working, including my library/comic/toy room, and then onto displays for some of my wife's stuff that will go into the living room when that is finished. It's almost a relief to not be buying new stuff for a couple months so I can get the stuff we have in order.

There is a lot to love in that video Chris. Especially the 13" DC Direct cloth Mego inspired figures, coloring books, Christopher Reeve movie memorabilia shelf, and the huge, Batman, cape holding statue.

I also liked the various DC Barbie heroines and Wonder Woman 12" customs. Is the Vixen a 12" Barbie custom as well?
I post in thy general direction!

Yes, Vixen is a custom as well. Cindy and I made a lot of Barbie Super Hero customs about 15 years or so ago. I think she hired a Barbie costumer friend of hers to make her suit, but a lot of them were made from just parts we had around the house, like Phantom Lady. She has on a standard Barbie bathing suit, worn backwards for the "peekaboo" effect.

Cool that you two collaborated to display both collections. Immersive and fun in there!

…and didn't you say you had toys throughout the house too!?!
