after listening to the podcast twice today and freakin loved it just was wondering are their are hard core collectors here?

I wouldn't say I'm a hardcore collector, but I love the show and I have a few items from the series. I do have two of the Mattel Eagle One ships. I have a Mattel Victor Bergman figure (not complete, though) and the Viewmaster slide set. I also have several of more recent FTC Space:1999 figures.

I'm astonished at the amount of Space: 1999 merchandise that was made, considering a two-year run and spotty distribution. Did it hit that sweet-spot between Trek and Star Wars?

Sadly, I never owned any as a kid, but have a few now. I go back and forth on what ship had the nicer design: The Enterprise or The Eagle
