Mego went two different ways with fighting action figures. The obvious one was the Ali boxing set. Almost kind of sort of a Rockem Sockem Robots setting for Ali and the Opponent with the control sticks and boxing ring. And the Fist Fighters which were a more traditional Mego style figure with a more limited Fighting action. I keep thinking what would have been the difference in Ali's sales if he had been made as a Fist Fighter instead. I mean obviously this would have allowed more integration into the Shared World figures at the cost of the more game like feature his set had. Or if instead of Fist Fighters, what if Mego had produced 8 inch figures that worked with the control rods that Ali used while keeping them 8 inches?
