I remember peddling my incredibly mediocre art at NY and Philly Creation Cons in the 80's. I'd draw requested heroes for money. There would always be several guys reinforcing the nerd cliche by asking for sexy sketches of heroines in various levels of undress (my fee would increase with each level. Yes, I was selling my teenage soul). I always though it strange and kinda gross that these teenagers and young 20-somethings had crushes on comic characters. But if I was honest, I used to have a comic/cartoon crush myself.

I'm not talking about a live person playing a hero like Lynda Carter or Joanna Cameron. Did you ever have a crush on a comic book or cartoon character?

For me, it was Princess Ariel from Thundarr. I don't wanna get too creepy, but there was something about her that made me question if girls did, in fact, have cooties.
