    Ceramic Christmas Trees...

Does anyone collect or have any old ceramic Christmas trees? I’ve noticed they have become popular these last couple years.
I was fortunate to score a mint working one from the late 70’s at a yard sale for 5 bucks considering how expensive I see them for nowdays I consider that a deal.

I have two: a smaller one with a bakelite plug, which belonged to my paternal grandmother, and a larger, "snowy" one which I repaired. I put out the smaller one each year for the holidays, it's my regular tree. I like them.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

We have one from the 70's also. It was my grandmother's, then my mother's, and when she passed I took possession of it.
My wife sets it up in the dining room ever year for the holidays.

We used to have one my mom got when I was a kid. But I haven't seen it in 20+ years. I have a sneaking suspicion it got broken after the last time I saw it and I wasn't told.

They've definitely made a comeback. We made a new one at a Ceramic workshop a few Christmases back, and we have a vintage one that belonged to my wife's grandmother:

My stepfather-in-law got this vintage one at auction a few years back and gave it to us:

And this is the new one we painted/glazed/decorated a few years ago:

Looks like I gotta take some pics. We love our ceramic trees. If we get all of ours out we practically have a forest.

Wow, those are great. What a terrific display.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Great pix, all. The one my grandmother had (years and years ago), the little plastic "lights" could come out and I'd play with them. Amazing none ever got lost. The present day ones I see at multiple retail stores, the lights are made into the ceramic tree and are not removable.

My grandmother had one too (almost exactly like the one in Hammer's first picture), and I remember it very fondly. I wish we still had it. When she passed, I think it just got tossed.

Wow Steve, you DO have a ceramic forest! Wonderful stuff!!!

In my haste I forgot this great white one with bluebirds. It belonged to my Grandmother. She had a matching Cardinal one that one of my cousins now have.
