I don't collect model kits but when I saw this yesterday at a toy store in Culver City, I couldn't resist. I believe this is the very first toy version of the Mad Max Interceptor ever made. Fujimi put it out in 1982 as part of a 4 car set after Road Warrior was released. It's was made in Japan, 1:24 scale and is powered by a small FA-130 motor and 2 AA batteries (which are not included). Not sure how Fujimi got away with this "Mad Police" nonsense, but they did.

I'm not very good at building/painting models so I'm not sure yet if I'm going to try and do it, pay someone who's good at it, or just leave it minty in the box. Glad I saw this; it's an important piece in Mad Max toy history.
