anyone remember "the tower" or "Earthquake Tower"

Do anyone of you recall this 5 1/2 foot tall toy from the 70's? I really think it was based on some disaster film of the time. It came with plastic people, fire trucks, police, etc and a cool flexi 7" record that had a movie soundtrack playing (not music but like a teleplay). I no longer have the record but would love to find/hear it again.

The toy is in a bad spot so I could not check who made this. The tower is made up of 3 seperate pieces (sections of the building) they had a swivel type interlock in the center of each piece. If you put them together (like in the pic below) and push the little white button on the base (bottom right) the sections of the building would shake back and forth simulating an earthquake. Likewise each piece had a "lock" on the back to prevent the shaking if so desired. Fun toy and it was attacked many times by many rubber monsters and the like.

WOW! Where did you find that picture?? It was probably a promo pic. The vehicles did not look that nice. The ones you received were the generic one piece plastic type that would come with plastic army men.

Actually some of those vehicles from the Earthquake tower also came with the Godzilla vs tricephalon playset from HG toys in 1979

I had that as a kid, loved the winch to carry the people to safety. Looking through my old stuff in my parents attic a while back, I found some of the people. I remember the tower being kinda flimsy and didn't last too long, but then again I played rough with my toys so maybe I just destroyed it.

That'd really go well as a twin pack with the Godzilla outfit....you could dress up and kick over the tower all day long.

the building itself was made from strong cardboard (which is why they would not last long if played with excessively). The white tower tip, elevators, base, bottom and top of each section and the white walkways on each level were plastic

I know I had three of these when I was younger and the last one to remain is the one I showed in my first post (the last one remained because of the store where I bought it. They would NEVER remove items off the shelf. I bought the last tower towards the early-mid 80's). I love that tower.

Love it even more if I can find the flexi record that it came with
