So many good commercials! I liked the MEGO Planet of the Apes Forbidden City but never got that one or any apes.
But my favorite commercial for a toy was the AT Gijoe one with bugle. You gotta get out your Gijoe, Copters waiting it's time to go....... I would run to my room grab joe and play along with commercial. If I missed it, I waited and it would come on again! It's at 1:30 mark lots of Joe commercials on this link.

I didn't remember most toy commercials before youtube.
I want to go through and watch them.
I mainly discovered new toys by finding them in the stores.
One of my favorite finds was walking into the toy store and finding a Hoth Stormtrooper, it seemed like the best action figure ever created. It was so new and different, at the time, from all the other figures on the wall.Comment

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...Comment

I forgot about Batman!
Usually showed 2 episodes, back-to-back.
I think they also showed the American version of Hilarious House of Frightenstein (cut to half hour episodes with an added laugh track)

If I had only spent a tenth of the time studying Physics that I spent learning Star Wars and Baseball trivia, I would have won the Nobel Prize.Comment

Yup, WNEW after school....this ad just felt like Christmas to me. I never saw it in color until I was an adult."Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

I have Stay Alive now and I clearly remember the commercial w/ the kids. I also have Hangman now, and I loved the bank commercial w/ Vincent Price."Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

Batman every weekday afternoon, Star Trek, Bewitched, Wild Wild West. That station was as integral to my childhood as comics and the library. Nice to hear you mention Johhnny Sokko, as well.
) First up, posted by our own Megotu, Mego's Lainie (Christmas 1973 when I was 7).
