Walt Disney's The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh. As a kid, I watched the Sunday night show religiously. I was a huge Disney kid!
And then, one Sunday, there he was. Patrick McGoohan, with that bizarre mask was terrifying enough... But then HE LAUGHED! I made my mom change the channel.
Years later I watched it and realized just how great it was. Now it's become a personal favorite. Now if only we could get a remego of Dr. Syn!

I know I am later to the party, but I can't be the only one that was terrified of these two.

Yes. Superhost was awesome.
Shortly after I got online I found an email address for Martin Sullivan. I sent him an email asking if were in fact the man who portrayed Superhost. He responded that he was, and that he was retired and living out west. We exchanged a few more emails with me gushing about how much joy he brought me in my youth.
Really very nice.
(wonder if I could modify a Dr Deadly kit to look like him. . . )
WUAB and Big Chuck & Lil John were huge influences on my youth.Comment

That's great! I've heard that he's interacted with fans over the years. Like you, I liked BC & LJ as well, I even barely remember Hoolihan. (They came to my school for a fundraiser basketball game.) But they were on pretty late, and I followed them more as a teen. Superhost was a stronger influence, and my memories of him are bolstered by the whole WUAB programming.
IIRC, Sullivan is Canadian and worked in Detroit, then Cleveland. I wonder if Svengoolie has met him or the other Cleveland hosts?Last edited by PNGwynne; Jan 31, '18, 8:10 PM.WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment
