You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return... -
I miss the old malls I used to go to back then. It seemed they were packed 24/7 back then. There is only one original mall still standing today that I went to and it looks nothing at all like it did back then and all the stores are lone gone..
Record Stores. I know we still have them but there are very few where I live. I miss the old I went to that are long gone.
Video Stores. I miss going to the video store and the excitement of waiting for a new movie to come out. Although I hated the late fees but I really miss them..
ToyTown-This was a toystore in the area Im from that was the size of a supermarket. They had EVERYTHING a kid in the 70'-87 (when they closed). If I had a time machine that would easily be one of the first places I would go. Ironically toys r us was right up the street and still is to this day but it looks NOTHING like it did back then..

I miss the Newberry's in Cooperstown. It was right next door to the Hall of Fame. Use to have a lunch counter in it. Best time to go was Hall of Fame Weekend. Most of the HOFs ate there.Music videos you couldn't wait to see

We somehow had a Newerry's in our podunk town. It was replaced with a Sundry Store. Anyone remember those?
I miss newsstand comics. I still frequent the pharmacy up the street from my childhood home. Every time I go in there I'm saddened by the lack of magazines, and especially comics. The rack is still the same one, but it's almost empty.

We had a JJ Newberry's here in Oakland too back in the day."Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

Dude!
Grew up on those shows.
And I used to love the rare treat of getting to eat a TV dinner. Back when they were still good, and you could actually get a piece of chicken, not just chicken strips.
I also agree about woodgrain. It was everywhere.
Video games. Real ones, that you put a quarter into.
Cereal prizes.Comment
