Classic Stretch Armstrong is getting a US release.
I won't be able to get one for a while. Stretch hit at the same time as all the brand new retro Strawberry Shortcake stuff. So please post some pictures when you get one.
Yahoo! Good news. Do you recall how much? Mine from Amazon will be here tomorrow, but I was planning on hitting Target for other stuff anyway. EDIT: Just checked online and they have it in stock and in local stores for $24.99! Amazon had it for a little more but I had an Amazon GC so it was free.

It simply makes no sense. Reproducing the original artwork may bring in casual nostalgic buyers. Whether the packing is vintage or new makes no differance to kids, it's all new to them. Not a deal breaker to me, I'll sit buy it. Ryan
I would say it does make sense, as, like you said, it would attract older collectors (like myself who would buy this if it were repro box art and who won't if not). Also, the older art is usually far superior, and already exists in most cases (or can be easily obtained, cheaper than staging and creating all new box graphics, photos, art).
I don't understand why these companies make repro items and then release them with terrible inferior box art. Like the repro Evel Knievel toys that came out years ago, just another example. These companies miss the point of a repro release.
