I actually kinda like the newer ones better than the older ones ... I would say the Leslie Anne Warren - Sam Elliot era best

For favorite episode the one where they make the racist guy turn black.

I still can't believe that episode got made in the 70s'

Quite a fan of this show, and the casts. I would say that when the show stated focusing on Syndicate crime over international high-jinks, the show suffered. I liked seasons 1-4 best in terms of scripts, though Graves was more charismatic than Hill.

I had no beef with Warren, quite pretty but she seemed a lightweight in role at the time. Linda Day George seemed more capable. Neither was a Cinnamon. Season 4 was fun with rotating female leads.

Elliot seemed capable but I was always half-ticked at his character:because I liked Lupus and thought he was woefully underwritten and underutilized. The tighter team was nice in later seasons, I just didn't like the scripts as much.

I think a testament to how good these shows are is the ability to rewatch many of then despite knowing the twist endings. I have many favorites, one that springs to mind is the one with the infiltration colony headed by "kindly" Will Geer.

When I look at Space: 1999 Megos, it makes me want Mission: Impossible ones...

I remember the Race change episode. It must have been in season 5.

Shatner episode was a classic just for the outlandish plot.
In order to solve a cold case the IMF and scores of actors go to extreme lengths to convince one of the killers, Thomas Kroll, that he is reliving the day of the murder - June 30, 1937.

There was some gems in the first season like the Carriers (with George Takei) and odds on Evil ( influenced by Casino Royal)

Kitara (S5) is that race episode and no way they could get away with that now.
