Hulk Hogan 12 inch talking figure...can it be fixed?

Can the 12 inch talking Hulk Hogan with the pull string be fixed? Talks way too fast. Doesn't look like it can be opened up to get to the mechanism inside. Any help is gladly appreciated.

And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
    The beauty that surrounds them

Is your Hogan making racist remarks?

Unfortunately, there is no way to fix a talking mechanism like that without cracking the toy open. The problem with pull string talkers is the band that goes around the tiny record inside stretches over time which causes it to speed up.

Here's a restoration of a talking Action Man mechanism. Action Man is screwed together but the talking record mechanism inside should work the same.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I would contact apbjoe on Ebay and ask what he would charge. He fixes vintage talking Gijoes and I once had him fix a big 1960s talking Dr. Dolittle that had a sealed talking mechanism. Basically if you can cut it apart it can be glued back and repaired. It may not be worth the cost of the repair though.
