The first one wasn't great, but the second was mindless fun.

It seems like a long time since the last one.

Please, please ignore the first two movies and make it like the 80s cartoon. Realistically, they are going to have to reboot anyways since the last movie killed off everyone.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Fingers crossed they nail it down this next go around. The first two movies were, for me, just epically generic. It would be incredible if they could form a pseudo-Adventure team scenario that would play to the Avengers style yet be more grounded to the GI-Joe iconic series. That and they really need to utilize the logo. That logo is very emblematic to Joe. I think it should return.

Seriously, how can the movies mess this up so horribly!?

It's such a simple, fun and well done concept. Don't give it to people who have contempt for source material.

So many great 80s properties. So many terrible, terrible movies.

The second movie was better than the first, but they are both "meh", and don't capture any version of the source material.

It would have been challenging to have been actually worse than the first movie. Having Cobra Commander in a more traditional outfit makes it slightly better by default.

Retaliation was the better of the two but, as previously mentioned they freakin' killed off everybody in Cobra. Hopefully, this Goldsman guy gets it right.

                        Now you're talkin'! Yes please.

The cartoon is excellent and was still amazing when I watched them again when they were on Netflix.

                        ___

The 2nd movie at least had red ninjas in like the silent issue G.I. Joe comic book.
-but yeah, I want the cartoon outfits etc.

Cobra La would be great too.

                        Nemesis Enforcer!

I liked both movies but yeah, they were rather generic and the 2nd movie is definitely the better of the two. A total reboot is probably the answer although I did think they did a great job with Snake eyes and Storm Shadow

Not everything has to be dark, gritty or grounded in reality. Don't be ashamed of the source material or suck the fun out of it. If it was up to me they'd go full on cartoon with the next one. The costumes, the vehicles, laser guns, etc. Heck, I'd even have it take place in the cartoon's fictional 80s world. Embrace the fun sci-fi/fantasy craziness of it all.
