          "$45,000 'Star Wars' collection stolen"

          ???

They shoulda titled the piece "More likable than you'd think Star Wars fan looking to recoup stolen toys worth thousands brought to you by Acura!"
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix

It pays to have your collection insured once it becomes extensive enough to become a financial disaster if lost or stolen.

Turns out that was a report about a theft in Washington state, and a local store, Showroom Collectibles, bought the stolen goods and are now working w the police to id the thieves:

              https://www.facebook.com/showroomcol...14427841990774

"We hate nothing more in this world then Liers and Thieves and as part of the business we are in we have to deal with ceases like this from time to time we take these types of risks every time we buy something from someone if its pops up stolen we lose the items and the money we paid. We have talked with the Vancouver Police Department and they have our 100% cooperation and we will be pulling all the star wars vintage figures and box sets that were brought in and get them to the rightful owner all info regarding the individual that sold us these items have been handed over to the police and will be prosecuted. As many of you know when you sell anything to us we make a copy of your i.d this is why we do so."

I HOPE someone gets busted for this. Surely if they paid this kind of money, it wasn't in the form of cash, since they seem to indicate this wouldn't be the first time they bought stolen goods. I hope this fellas gets all of his collection back.

I hope whomever did this gets nailed, how would they explain to the other inmates in the pokey that
they got jailed for stealing toys.

Years ago I was interviewed for a newspaper, the article had a photo of my collection...and my full name and my town and streetname...
One evening, doorbell rings, and two guys (one looked like Russian mob) are standing at the door. "We've come to see the collection".
And that was my last interview...
                      .
                      .
                      .

Can't agree strongly enough. It's pretty easy to get a rider on your home owner or renter's insurance. I've had one for years on my renter's.

This possibility hit me when one of the maintenance guys was in my apartment and asked if I was "the toy guy." He wanted to see the collection while he was there. Apparently, my toyroom has been talked about among the guys and other office workers. I'm sure it's mostly innocent, but these guys have keys and can come and go as they please.
